The ancient Greeks had two words for time

Chronos is the time of clocks and calendars — sequential, measurable, relentless. It's the time that fills your inbox, fragments your attention, and makes one week blur into the next.

Kairos is the other kind. Qualitative time. The right moment. The moment when the world takes a breath, and in the pause before it exhales, something shifts.

We created Kairos Retreats to give you five days of the second kind — on an island where the water glows a blue that doesn't exist anywhere else on earth.

Lefkada Blue — the opalescent turquoise water of the Ionian Sea
Sunset yoga on the beach — movement, breath, and the Ionian Sea
Luxury villa with private pool — your home for the retreat

Five nights between the pine forests and the sea

Morning movement on a terrace above the Ionian. Long table dinners under the stars. A private chef cooking what the island gives us. And a stretch of turquoise water so vivid you'll think your eyes are lying.

Morning Movement

Yoga, pilates, or breathwork led by world-class teachers — rotating each retreat. Never prescriptive. Always spacious. The Ionian stretching out below you.

Culinary Immersion

A private chef transforms Lefkadan ingredients — wild herbs, Eglouvi lentils, thyme honey, fresh-caught fish — into long, convivial Mediterranean meals.

Creative Exploration

Ceramics, watercolour, journaling, sound healing — each retreat features a creative thread. Make something. Or simply watch the light change.

Sea & Mountain

Wild swimming at secret coves. A private boat trip through the Ionian. Hiking through ancient olive groves. Or simply: the villa, the pool, the view.

Evening Restoration

Yin yoga, sound baths, guided meditation as the sun sets. Then: dinner at a long table, local wine, and conversation that goes wherever it goes.

Space & Stillness

The schedule is a suggestion, not a demand. Afternoons are yours. Read in a hammock. Swim alone. Do nothing beautifully. That's the point.

The Villa

Each Kairos retreat takes place in a carefully selected private villa on the island of Lefkada, chosen for its setting, its beauty and its sense of quiet seclusion.

Overlooking the Ionian Sea, the villas offer spacious terraces, elegant interiors and panoramic views that invite a slower rhythm of living. Natural materials, Mediterranean light and thoughtful design create an atmosphere that feels both refined and deeply connected to the landscape.

While the exact villa may vary from retreat to retreat, each one shares the same essential qualities: space, beauty and the rare feeling of being completely immersed in the timeless landscape of the Ionian Islands.

"The colour of the water looked edited in real life. Like someone turned the saturation way up. It's that turquoise blue that doesn't look natural — but it is."

Lefkada Blue

Lefkada is one of the last unspoilt islands in the Ionian Sea. Connected to mainland Greece by bridge — no ferry, no hassle — yet still largely undiscovered by the retreat world.

Its west coast beaches are consistently ranked among the most beautiful in Europe. The water is a milky, opalescent turquoise created by white limestone cliffs refracting light through the Ionian — a colour so vivid that every visitor says the same thing: it looks digitally enhanced, but it's real.

We call it Lefkada Blue. There is nothing else like it.

Easier than you think

Lefkada is connected to mainland Greece by bridge — no ferry, no waiting, no seasickness. One of the easiest Greek islands to reach.

Option 1 — Fly direct to Preveza (PVK)

Seasonal direct flights from London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Copenhagen and more land at Preveza/Aktion airport — a short drive from Lefkada. Step off the plane, and the Ionian air hits you immediately. We arrange a group transfer to the villa. Direct flights typically run May through October — check availability for your dates.

Option 2 — Fly into Athens + scenic road trip

For those coming from the US or anywhere without a direct Preveza route: fly into Athens, then choose your own adventure. The 4-hour drive west is one of Greece's most beautiful road trips — through mountains, past Delphi country, and down to the Ionian coast. Rent a car and make a day of it, or we can arrange a private transfer. Some of our guests say the drive is where the retreat begins.

Group airport transfers from Preveza are included. Private transfers and car rental can be arranged — just ask when you book.

Two Paths, One Place

Kairos Retreats was created through the meeting of two paths — hospitality and well-being, Ireland and Greece — united by a shared appreciation for places where time seems to slow down.

Frequently Asked

How do I get to Lefkada? +

Fly to Preveza/Aktion airport (PVK), a short drive from Lefkada. Seasonal direct flights from London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Copenhagen and more operate May through October. From the US or other cities, connect via Athens (4-hour scenic drive) or Corfu (3-hour coastal transfer). We arrange group airport transfers for all guests. See our Getting Here section for full details.

Do I need to be experienced in yoga? +

Not at all. Our sessions are designed for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. The emphasis is on movement, breath, and presence — not advanced poses. If you'd rather swim or read on the terrace during a session, that's entirely welcome too.

Can I come alone? +

Absolutely — most of our guests come solo. The retreat is designed to foster genuine connection in a small group of 10. If you book a shared room, we'll pair you with another solo guest. Many of our guests say the people they meet become lasting friends.

What about dietary requirements? +

Our private chef works with fresh, seasonal Lefkadan ingredients and can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and other dietary needs. Just let us know when you book and we'll make sure every meal works for you.

What is the deposit and cancellation policy? +

A 30% deposit secures your spot. The remaining balance is due 6 weeks before the retreat. Full refund if cancelled 60+ days out, 50% refund at 30–60 days, and within 30 days we'll do our best to fill your place. We recommend travel insurance for complete peace of mind. Full details are in our cancellation policy below the FAQ.

Is there free time or is every day scheduled? +

The schedule is a suggestion, not a demand. Mornings and evenings have guided sessions, but afternoons are entirely yours — swim, explore the island, nap, read, or do nothing at all. This is kairos, not chronos. There are no alarm clocks here.

What's the weather like? +

May sees temperatures of 22–28°C with long sunny days and warm evenings. September and early October are similar — still warm (24–29°C), the sea is at its warmest, and the summer crowds have gone. Both are ideal for the retreat experience.

What should I bring? +

Light, comfortable clothing. Swimwear. A light jacket for evenings. Walking shoes if you'd like to hike. We provide yoga mats, towels, and all retreat materials. A welcome pack with local products will be waiting for you at the villa.

Cancellation Policy

Nobody books a retreat with the intention of cancelling it. But life happens, and we want you to book with confidence.

More than 60 days before the retreat: Full refund of your deposit, no questions asked.

30–60 days before: 50% of your deposit is refunded. We understand — sometimes the timing isn't right.

Less than 30 days before: Your deposit is non-refundable, but we'll do our best to fill your place. If we do, you'll receive a full refund.

Remaining balance: Due 6 weeks before the retreat. Refundable in full if cancelled more than 30 days before.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind. Life is unpredictable — your investment doesn't have to be.
